World Book Day at Guiseley School 2025

Guiseley School once again celebrated World Book Day in style, with a day full of exciting activities embracing this year’s theme: Adventure!

A Story in a Day – The Dragon Project
Students and staff were captivated by The Dragon Project by Naomi Kritzer. The tale follows a bioengineer commissioned to create a dragon for Chinese New Year, sparking intrigue and discussion across classrooms. It's a brilliant short story, and you can read it here.

Staff Fancy Dress – Who’s Who?
Departments dressed up as characters from famous adventure books, challenging students to guess their themes. As a staff body, we take great joy in dressing up for the day. There were no end of brilliant outfits across the board, thank you very much to our staff for putting in so much time and effort! Amy B (10R) successfully identified every department, taking home the top prize!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated – thanks to you, World Book Day 2025 was a success! 📚

We will include other Decorated Form Doors at the bottom of this article, even though only a few could win, they were all brilliant! We're looking forward to next year already.
