On the 19th of July, Guiseley School held its annual Sports Day under a glorious sun, with temperatures reaching up to 26 degrees. The students arrived brimming with enthusiasm, armed with suncream and water bottles, ready to give their all despite the heat.
The event kicked off with a series of fun races, including the ever-popular Egg and Spoon race and the Shorts Relay. Traditional athletic events like the Shot Putt, Turbo Javelin, Triple Jump, and Long Jump showcased the students' skills and athleticism. The spirited relay races, a highlight of the day, saw teams working together seamlessly and cheering each other on wildly.
Though the fan-favorite Tug of War had to be cancelled due to the ropes snapping in multiple places, the students didn't let this dampen their spirits. They quickly adapted, turning to a game of Kickball Rounders. Music played, keeping energy levels high.
The day concluded with the much-anticipated relay races. The students displayed exceptional sportsmanship, not only in their competitions but also in their willingness to help clean up afterward, ensuring the grounds were left as they were found.
Guiseley School's Sports Day was a resounding success, thanks to the students' fantastic attitudes and the glorious weather. Thank you to all of our students and staff for making it a Sports Day to remember!

Miss Marshall had this to say:
"Thank you for all of your hard work this year, it's very much deserved! And for those that didn't have as much luck this time (though we know how hard you've worked), enjoy your summer and come back refreshed and ready to take the trophy next year!"
