We would like to congratulate Theo Wassell for gaining a place in the Yorkshire U16s Rugby Union Team. Theo played his first game with the team against Saracens this weekend, at Warwick University.
At Warwick University, Theo played in all three games (outcomes detailed below) - starting in two games and played for 45 minutes overall. The rugby played was to a very high standard, and Theo played very well considering he hadn't had the chance to play with his new team before the tournament.
Theo started playing rugby in October 2023 for Aireborough Rugby Club, then joined our Guiseley School Rugby Club. This year, our Head of Science, Mr Dunn, put Theo forward for the Yorkshire Rugby Trials, in which he was successful. Subsequently he joined the Yorkshire Foundation Development Programme, and last week was selected to play for the Yorkshire Academy Team at the Academy Festival at Warwick University.
We would like to wish Theo all the best for the future, and congratulate him on all of his success so far!
