Sports Day 2023 was an exciting - albeit wet - day out that was fun and engaging for both Guiseley students and teachers.
Each year group took part in the activities sequentially, starting with a variety of track races such as the 100, 200 and 300 metre sprints while other longer races took place e.g. the 500 and 800 metre events.
Tug-of-war was also a favorite amongst students and staff, with their cheering being some of the loudest on the field.
Next up were the field games involving javelin, beanbag toss, long jump and more - with students getting competitive and really striving for the win. After this, form games took place on the MUGA where pupils battled it out to be the best. The games involved tasks from mini relays showcasing cooperation to trying the students aim by knocking down targets for points.
Unfortunately once midday hit, so did the heavy rain - cutting the fun and games short. Though disappointed, staff and pupils stayed in good spirits and are keenly awaiting the bestowing of the House Cup tomorrow.
Excellent sportsmanship, Guiseley!
