On the evening of November 6th, Guiseley School hosted its much-anticipated 2024 Divertimento concert, leaving the audience spellbound with an eclectic array of musical performances. From the soaring melodies of Wicked to the grooves of the school’s exceptional Jazz Band, the night was a true showcase of student talent and hard work.
For many of the performers, it was their first time stepping onto the stage for a school event. Nerves quickly gave way to confidence and all of them performed admirably.
True to Guiseley School tradition, the lighting and sound were entirely managed by the pupils, with little staff intervention. Their technical expertise ensured seamless transitions, vibrant visuals, and crystal-clear sound throughout the concert, creating a professional and polished experience.
The Divertimento concert is a testament to Guiseley School’s commitment to nurturing talent both on and off the stage. Our Head of Music, Mr Stote, had this to say: “It is a real privilege to work with such dedicated and confident musicians. For many students it was their first performance, but you wouldn’t have known that from their confidence on stage - the quality of music being produced was exceptional and thanks to our incredible team of student technicians, it looked and sounded like a professional concert! I’m so proud of every student for what they achieved in this concert!”
Parents, staff, and fellow students packed the auditorium and observed the evening's performances with enthusiasm. We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our musicians, there would be no concerts like these without you.
