Guiseley School Pays Tribute at Remembrance Day Service

Guiseley School joined the local community today in a poignant Remembrance Day service at the town’s cenotaph, paying tribute to the servicemen and women who have given their lives in conflict. Attended by students from Guiseley School’s secondary and sixth form alongside pupils from local primary schools, the event highlighted the importance of remembrance across generations.

The ceremony featured a touching performance of The Last Post played on bugles by Guiseley School's own Mr. Gracey and sixth form student Lily Adams. After the bugle call, students and local community members laid poppy wreaths at the cenotaph as a symbol of respect and remembrance.

The Remembrance Day service at Guiseley’s cenotaph brought together families, educators, and young people from across the area in a collective act of reflection and gratitude. As each wreath was laid, the quiet strength of the community’s remembrance was clear, serving as a powerful reminder that the legacy of those who served lives on.

We would also like to share what our brilliant Poet Laureates have written for us this Remembrance Day in the gallery below. Incredibly thoughtful and meaningful work!
