School of Rock
18 July 2018
Our end of year production this year was 'School of Rock' based on the film starring Jack Black and with music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
For three nights our school hall was transformed into Horace Green School and the Palace Theatre for the Battle of the Bands. The energy and enthusiasm of our cast was truly outstanding as they played to packed audiences each night who sweltered under the heat of the most amazing rock lighting by Year 9 student Isaac Phillips. Audience reactions were incredibly positive:
"The best school production yet at Guiseley School!"
"We came out having enjoyed that performance more than the west end version. It made me laugh a lot and they covered for each other seamlessly."
"An excellent high energy production!"
School productions are the culmination of weeks of hard work from students and staff across the school. It has been a real privilege to watch this young cast grow in confidence doing something they love and working as a team to become the best they can possibly be.
"SCHOOL OF ROCK is for everyone to take part in. It is a celebration of the empowering force of music" - Andrew Lloyd Webber
