ArtForms provide most of our instrumental tuition at Guiseley school. They have been looking at ways to respond to the current situation with regards to supporting students who are learning an instrument at school but cannot currently have their normal lessons. They have uploaded some online resources to their website and this will be updated over time. These are intended to be accessed by children who would normally be taking part in instrumental lessons at school. For those children with instruments at home, this is a way of ensuring that their musical learning can continue to some extent until they get further plans for instrumental teaching in place.

It is important that your son/daughter has the opportunity to carry on making music and practising in these difficult times. After Easter, they will be looking at other ways of providing a service including the possibility of 1:1 tuition via a trusted, specialised music learning platform. They are working with Leeds City Council ICT managers to ensure that the learning platforms comply fully with LCC policy, safeguarding and GDPR regulations and that there are suitable protections in place for both children and staff. I will update you when they release further details.

For all students, there are links in the Easter Holiday work section on the school VLE for musical activities that will provide fun and creative opportunities to keep music-making a valuable part of their learning and development.
