Guiseley School is a well-established, 11-18 comprehensive school and part of the Aireborough Learning Partnership Trust, a Co-operative Trust established in 2014. As part of the Trust, Guiseley School works with a number of local schools to promote the welfare and success of the children of Aireborough. As part of the local community, Guiseley School has a firm reputation for high standards in both behaviour and academic endeavour.
This is an exciting time to join Guiseley School. We have recently been rated by Ofsted as ‘Good’ in all areas (October 2019) and we have recently moved into a brand new Sports and Arts block which was the first stage of our rebuild project, the second stage is due to complete in May 2021
The main purpose of the role is:
- To lead, manage and develop a high quality, responsive, efficient, effective and compliant School finance function
- Operate as financial controller ensuring that the School operates with strong systems of financial control which protect and develops its assets and financial position
- Providing advice and support to the Deputy Head, Headteacher and Governing Body on all aspects of School’s finances and financial controls processes
We are looking for an individual with well developed analytical, planning and organisation financial skills and the ability to lead, develop and motivate a team, delegating as required. An ability to communicate and explain financial matters to a variety of stakeholders and audiences is key and a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA/CIMA/CIPFA is essential. Previous experience of working in a school is desirable but not essential.
